AVG after 31st May

Hi PC Plus Services customers and others

If you have AVG 7.5 free it is on a mission to persuade you to pay for your Antivirus protection.

However a free version 8.0 is alive and well and will still do a good job without all bells and whistles promised in the paid for version.

Just follow the link that pops up and look further down the page until you find a phrase like "click here" if you are happy to continue with the Free version.

Or click this link: http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition or copy it into your browser address bar and follow the links.

Or go directly to: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-AVGAntiVir&subj=dl&tag=button   I prefer to Save it then Run it.

It is quite large so it only viable to download it if you have a fairly fast Broad Band connection.

There are a couple of things to watch for during the installation: Untick "Install AVG Security Toolbar"  and when asked and several stages later untick "Enable Daily Scanning" then click [Yes] when asked if you "really" want to disable scanning.

Skip Updates (they won't work anyway!) Do not register just click [Next] then [Finish] and you'll computer will reboot then you can update etc.

Any problems, contact me.

Best regards,

Ben Whiting
